Best Wood for Firepits
Here at Surefire Wood, we are often asked ‘‘What is the best Firewood to burn in a Fire pit?’’ The simply answer is dry firewood. Whether kiln dried or well-seasoned, it is important the moisture is below 20%. Hardwood and Softwood logs are both fine for your fire pit, although Hardwood will burn for longer.
When lighting your Fire pit, use some kindling and small logs. This will ensure it doesn’t smoke for long (annoying your neighbours) and will gain quick heat. Always ensure there is plenty of air getting to your logs. Once it is going intensely you can add larger logs depending on the size of Fire pit.
Sit back, relax and enjoy.
